Trezor: Security Alert on Unauthorized Email (Reddit Bitcoin)

We are issuing a warning regarding a security incident involving an unauthorized email that has been sent out impersonating Trezor to our newsletter database from a third-party email service provider we use.

Important: If you’ve received an email with the subject ‘Assets undergoing upgrade’ from noreply@trezor.io, please take the following steps: Do not click any links or provide any personal information if you receive this email. Delete the email from your inbox promptly to prevent any accidental interaction. If you have entered your recovery seed phrases in any form, especially through a link provided in such emails, immediately move your funds to a new wallet.

If you have not disclosed your 12 or 24-word recovery seed through any online form, your assets remain secure.

We want to reassure you that we swiftly managed to neutralize the malicious link, and limited the reach of the threat. There is, however, a strong likelihood that additional phishing attempts could be made. Please note, that the unauthorized email was sent out to users subscribed to our newsletters. Hence we alert you to exercise the utmost caution with any email communication claiming to be from Trezor. As such Trezor representatives will never ask for your recovery seed. Staying vigilant is key.

Your security remains our immediate priority: Your digital assets and wallet remain secure and unaffected. Under no circumstances should you share your recovery seed. We will never ask for this sensitive information. Always be alert to the risk of phishing attempts.
